The Whiskey Co-Operative brings together people who share a liking to the dram. It's not made up of snooty, pompous uptight folk as we consider drinking the dram as fun, informative and enjoyed most with others. We host events, tastings, private parties and have a bloody good time doing it.
It was established in 2014 at The Wild Rover in Surry Hills, Sydney. Having 200+ whiskies on the shelf and a growing number of regulars downing them, the club was created to track the ones they had thrown back with a passport and to bring people together to learn about the spirit the bar loves by hosting a tasting once a month. Basically, it became a great excuse to drink on a Monday night. Only members are invited to attend.
Since it's humble beginnings, we now collaborate with whiskey suppliers and producers throughout the year to showcase how it can be paired with culinary delights in one-off events.
The success of events such as 'WHISKY & CHEESE with The Stinking Bishops', 'The Balvenie Whisky Dinner' at Wilhelmina's and 'WHISKY & CHOCOLATE' with Lixie Chocolaterie, we're excited to partner up with other local Sydney producers to bring tasty whisky events to life. While these events are open to the public, members are given first opportunity to book.
We aren't whiskey snobs - we just love drinking the stuff and create reasons throughout the year to do it.
