To celebrate the week of St Patrick’s Day, Surry Hills’ whiskey haunt The Wild Rover will host the Irish Whiskey Fair over the weekend of Saturday 10 & Sunday 11 March 2018.
The Australian based Irish whiskey community will gather at The Wild Rover to showcase their booze and provide an opportunity for consumers and hospitality trade to taste their way through brands featured on the shelves of bars and bottle shops across the country.
This year, it’s not just about tasting a range of whiskey before going on your way. The Rover team will offer cocktails featuring brands exhibited at the Irish Whiskey Fair.
The Wild Rover have been hosting events for their whiskey club, The Whiskey Co-Op, since 2014 and the Irish Whiskey Fair is part of their wider whiskey experience program that runs throughout the year. Those attending the Whiskey Fair will have an opportunity to join the club at the Fair.
Brands featured on the day include Jameson, Redbreast, Teeling, Bushmills, Tyrconnell, Connemara, Tullamore Dew, Slane, Glendalough, Writers Tears and The Irishman.
There will be two whiskey prize packs up for grabs! To win a basket of whiskey and a Bohemia Crystal Rocks Glass, simply take a photo of your favourite dram over the weekend and use #thewhiskeycoop to go into the running.
☆ Saturday session tickets will be split into 'enter before 2pm' and 'enter after 2:30pm' to stagger flow of guests ☆

About The Wild Rover
The Wild Rover opened in 2013 as a welcoming local neighbourhood bar with an Irish twist located in the Sydney suburb of Surry Hills. Housed in an unassuming clothing house, the bar aims at bringing people together who share a love of good times, jovial antics and quality booze.
About The Whiskey Co-Op
The Whiskey Co-Operative is The Wild Rover’s Whiskey Club. It was established in early 2014 for regulars of The Wild Rover wanting to learn more about the spirits stocked on the shelves. The ‘Co-Op’ welcomes everyone from beginners wanting to learn to love the dram to passionate whisky buffs. Everyone (of legal age) is welcome to join. The club has recently published their own whiskey passport to track members’ journey tasting whiskey from the back bar. Membership costs $60 per year that includes discounts to whiskey events, a member keyring, whiskey passport and invites to free monthly tastings.
